The short answer
Remove your bar-end weight or cap and look inside the handlebar. What you see decides everything:
- Threads inside (a bolt hole, or a welded insert with a female thread) → choose bolt-on hardware that matches the thread size (M5, M6, M8, M10, M12, M16 or an OEM-specific bolt).
- Clean hollow tube → choose expander hardware that matches the tube's inner diameter.
- Completely solid, no opening → bar-end mirrors can't mount here without modification; consider our handlebar-mount mirrors instead.

Remove the original handlebar end weights or caps from handlebar and see if your handlebar ends are as following:
If it's A,
Measure your removed handlebar end weight's bolt for the bolt's pitch and size. And choose the fitment according to it.

"Harley Davidson" bikes with a M8 threaded stock OE handlebar (*original bar end caps part #55801252 are required),
choose the options "Harley-Davidson '21 later Sportster S, Nightster";
If it's B,
Measure the inner diameter of the handlebar,
if it's "14.5~15.7mm" or "17.5~20.4mm",
choose the options "7/8" threadless hollow bar";
if it's "17.5~20.4mm" or "20.5~24.9mm",
choose the options "1" & 1-1/4" threadless hollow bar";
if it's "14.5~15.7mm" or "17.5~20.4mm" or "20.5~24.9mm",
choose the options "7/8"~1-1/4" threadless hollow bar".

If it's D,
Measure the outer diameter of the handlebar, if it's a 7/8" or 1" handlebar,
choose the options "Clamp-on type (7/8" & 1" handlebar)";
